Jun 8, 2022 · Found a download that when you download, extract and run - then pull the battery from the BB , plug into PC and then put battery in, it will reload the software effectively removing my issue.
Oct 25, 2022 · To perform a hard reset, remove the battery for a few seconds and then reinsert. For a soft reset, press and hold the Alt, Right-Shift, and Backspace/Delete keys. To restore your Blackberry to its original factory settings, go to Options > Security Settings > Security Wipe.

Update 1: To clarify, a wipe will REMOVE the device's BBID (if it still had one), and thus no Link backup/restores either. Update 2: With no obvious reason, a subset of those wiping post-shutdown can't get past the wifi-phase of the initial setup. If a solution is found, this will be updated.
