If I run MediaExpress, it starts, shows me a very pretty UI, but if I click on the Device menu, I see a greyed out menu entry that says "No Device is Connected". Also, MediaExpress doesn't actually quit (that is, I run it from a command line prompt, and when I select File->Exit, the window disappears, but the command line prompt does not return and ps shows the process is still there.
2 days ago · I finally found a solution: Resetting the USB port through which the phone is connected to the PC restored the adb connection. So I wrote a small shell script for Linux that performs the reset: reset_usb_port_for_phone.sh The usage of the script is:
Blackberry died because they didn't listen to consumers and just continued to focus on what they thought was good for a phone and mostly hardware focused. Which seems like Sonos is ending up doing. Not focusing on the user experience, just building hardware.

3 days ago · The phone in EDL mode is the USB device in "QDL mode". If such a device is not present, the phone is not in EDL mode. Before you can execute EDL commands, you must load the Firehose loader for your device using this command (replace prog_firehose_ddr.elf with the loader for your phone)
