I would say Xabi is probably more versatile in the sense that he has played for multiple clubs in different countries with different styles, Busquets is absolutely fantastic and necessary for a team that plays tika taka possession style football.

Feb 16, 2019 · Very different players. Xabi was better when it came to long passes, but Sergio fits our system way better. Xabi Alonso was a great passer especially in the long distance. And he could blast the ball. Busquets plays narrowly and simple. They're different type of players. I haven't watched a lot of Xabi Alonso.

We managed to score a lot of goals but struggled defensively. With Xabi in the team, we can afford to play a CAM (Ozil / Kaka / di Maria) because Xabi is basically Kroos+Casemiro.
