The disc presents an up-scaled 3840 x 2160p resolution image in the correct widescreen 2.35:1 aspect ratio, and uses 10-bit video depth, a Wide Colour Gamut (WCG), High Dynamic Range in the form of HDR10+ , and is encoded using the HEVC (H.265) codec.

The original UK SD DVD release offered arguably the definitive collection of material, and many subsequent releases have only ported over a portion of this.

Feb 22, 2005 · Having only watched Shaun of the Dead 4K, I have to say that going off memory (I've seen the movie countless times on the 1080p blu ray release), that the image is surprising (because it's by Universal and is a cash in release) better by some margin mainly due to HDR/WCG, and decent level of natural grain and detail, in spite of it upscaled transfer.
