Aug 27, 2009 · The only corresponding birth is a Thomas George Kirby registered in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, the son of George Henry Kirby and a Sarah Arrowsmith, both born in Gloucestershire. They as well as Thomas George are a bit elusive but George Henry and Sarah are living in Sutton Coldfield (now part of Bham) in 1911, so there is a connection to the area.

I have looked in Historial Directories but found nothing. I did, however, find a reference to Kirby, Beard & Company and wondered if there might possibly be a connection.
Aug 27, 2009 · The Kirby branch you're descended from is the branch that's in my family tree. James and John Kirby, and their sisters Eliza, Alice and Emily, lived in Snow Hill in the 1891 census. Their father James was a fishmonger and so was his son James; and James senior's nephew John Hodgkiss, who was 14, appears to have been an apprentice in the business too.

Aug 14, 2008 · Fred Kirby worked in the stores at BSA Tools, Kitts Green, he lived by the Glebe pub, every one got on ok with him until one day he went into a rage throwing chairs etc about and was sacked, the Kirby family ancestors lived in Summer Lane and had a bad reputation, whether they were involved in Garrison Lane i don`t know.

Mar 29, 2007 · Jack Kirby on Frankfort street John, thanks for the listing. This is amazing, but one of the businesses listed on your posted directory page is a Jack Kirby, rag merchant. Jack was a great family friend. We called him Uncle Jack. He had been a boxer years before(and so too, his brothers).

We all went on to different senior schools, I went to Kingshurst High school for Girls. I lived on the Chester Road, very last house before the fields started.
