  4. I just reset my own M1 Mac. Some things I would do: Consider making a list of "essential apps" to reinstall. Backup all of your files, ideally multiple backups (e.g. 3-2-1 backup strategy). Also make a Time Machine backup, in addition to your other backups. imo Time Machine doesn't count towards your 3-2-1 backup, but it's a good additional step.
