May 14, 2018 · So First Glasgow *appears* to have far more vehicles that it needs with more new vehicles due throughout 2022. The chances of the frequencies increasing before the new buses arrive would appear to be close to zero – even if the passengers were there, they don’t have the drivers.

With the news that Glasgow is to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games, albeit it’s to be a scaled back version - I wonder if First will be awarded any contracts to the run the transport links again. Last time this took place in 2014 there was a completely new order of E400s, Streetlites and modern buses at the time like the E300s were used.

May 14, 2018 · It depends on when the tender is up for renewal normally that instigates new stock. The current E400City’s are lovely buses. Glasgow Airport is so dead now it’s a wonder 10 buses are even needed. The route is currently out to tender, with the new contract expected to start at the beginning of next year. 19 Aug 2024.

May 14, 2018 · Back to First Glasgow, under that banner alone the profit margin taken by the city can help provide £13ph to “all” First Glasgow drivers regardless of area served. First has a significant portion of Lanarkshire under their wing and it does take decent money, perhaps less so that it did. Keep in mind though that the likes of the 240 & 267 ...
