  2. St Mary’s Catholic Church, Duke Street. St Mary’s Church in the Parish of Our Lady of Furness opened for worship on the 28 th August 1867. It was the first Catholic Church built in the Borough of Furness. The building is situated on Duke Street along with Ramsden Square and the Town Hall.

  3. St Columba’s serves the Isle of Walney. Over the years much has been achieved. We have a splendid school. The church has changed a little: it was re-ordered in the 1990’s, a day chapel was built out of the sacristy and a “social area” is in place at the back of the church.
