Zak Penn's script for The Incredible Hulk was rewritten by lead actor Edward Norton. He also wrote a story and screenplay for The Avengers, although it was discarded by Joss Whedon, who chose to write his own script. However, due to WGA rules, Penn was still given a co-writer screenplay credit for The Avengers as he was the film's first writer.
