Jul 16, 2022 · Two methods can reset the device to factory default. The first method is HW method : Press the reset button on the rear panel until the two Link Rate LED and Device to Extender blinks. This takes about 5~10 seconds. (To avoid accidental resets, the small button is recessed. Use a pen or paperclip to access it.)
Locate the reset button on the bottom of the range extender. Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds until the Power LED blinks amber, and then let go. You may need a small object like a paperclip or a toothpick in order to properly press the reset button. Your range extender will begin to reboot and will perform a full factory reset.
When a device connects through the extender to your router, the MAC address of the device shown on the router is translated to another MAC address. If your router’s MAC filter, wireless access control, or ACL is enabled, the devices connected to the extender cannot get an IP address from the extender and cannot access the Internet.

To reconnect your NETGEAR WiFi range extender via WiFi: Push and hold the Factory Settings button (located on the side panel) for 7 seconds. Your range extender resets. Open your computer or mobile device’s WiFi menu and connect to the extender’s default WiFi network, NETGEAR_EXT.
