There are two ways to reset your password for your BlackBerry device before resorting to a full reset. The first is to reset the password from your device by tapping or clicking the "Forgot Password" button when prompted to sign into your BlackBerry ID.
Lock your screen. By locking the screen, you can help prevent your BlackBerry device from sending accidental messages or pocket dialing. Locking the screen doesn't turn off notifications for incoming calls or messages. Press the Power/Lock key on the top of your device.

When setting a new PIN, password, or pattern, a screen appears with an option to Delete previous PIN/password/pattern now.Select the option, and tap OK if you’d like to delete the previous screen lock.
