The British Championships are organised by the English Chess Federation (ECF). As a result, all of the information you supply to the ECF will be held by them, although differing information will be used in differing circumstances. Rating of Results. All tournaments will be rated by the ECF.
Supporting this great event is The John Robinson Youth Chess Trust. The Trust (an independent registered charity) was founded in 2006 to support junior chess in England. The Trust has generously supported the British since 2006 and in 2023 awarded the English Chess Federation £10,000 to facilitate the promotion and organising of the event and to provide junior coaching during the championship.

11 May – Open, Minor Counties, U1850 & U1450 Quarter Finals. 18 May – U2050 & U1650 Quarter Finals. 08 June – Semi Finals of all championships. 06 July – Finals of all championships. A decision as to the finals being held at one or more central/regional venues has not yet been taken. Championships Results (in the ECF LMS) will appear here.
2023 – saved front page. We are pleased to announce that this year’s British Chess Championships will be held at The Venue, De Montfort University in Leicester, with events running from 20th to 30th July 2023. The Venue at DMU is located at the edge of the De Montfort University Campus and is close to the centre of Leicester.
