Hopefully we can all agree that the term “hair metal” is inextricably linked to the 1980s. Therefore, the first hair metal band has got to come from that decade. That’s not to say we didn’t see hints of it during the 1970s with TRex, Aerosmith, KISS, etc., but it came from the 80s.
