Crank up the 8-track and flash back to a time when platform shoes and puka shells were all the rage in this hilarious retro-sitcom. For Eric, Kelso, Jackie, Hyde, Donna and Fez, a group of high school teens who spend most of their time hanging out in Eric’s basement, life in the ‘70s isn’t always so groovy.
During those years, he was one of the original writer/performers on SCTV, where he spent eight years on the show, playing such characters as Big Jim McBob (of Farm Film Report fame), Count Floyd/Floyd Robertson, and station owner/manager Guy Caballero, who goes around in a wheelchair only for respect and undeserved sympathy.
While the group and the Mounties are singing "Oh, Canada", Leo puts his hand over his heart, as the Mounties do. This is a sly allusion to the fact that Leo's actor, Tommy Chong, is Canadian. Dave Thomas & Joe Flaherty are both Second City alumni and appeared together in Deadly Companion , Stripes and Follow That Bird .
