Thomas Bliss. (1580 - 1585 - 1640) Thomas came with his family to Boston in the autumn of 1635 to escape the persecution of Puritans by the Church of England. He and his brother George both sailed on the same ship. They both settled with their families in the section of Boston across the bay a little southeast of the city called the Mount.
