Moser. Professional road racer Francesco Moser began building racing bicycles in a small workshop in Trento, Italy in1979. As a rider one of his greatest achievements was to break the 1972 hour record set by Eddy Merckx.
Francesco “Checco” Moser (born 19 June 1951), also known as “Lo sceriffo (The sheriff)”, is a former Italian professional road bicycle racer. He was one of the dominant racers of the mid 70s to the early 80s. Moser began his professional career in 1973.
