LaDainian Tarshane Tomlinson (born June 23, 1979) is an American former professional football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. After a successful college football career with the TCU Horned Frogs, the San Diego Chargers selected him as the fifth overall pick in the 2001 NFL draft.
Tomlinson was tabbed as the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 2006 when he rushed for a career-best 1,815 yards and 28 touchdowns. Along with his three receiving touchdowns, Tomlinson’s 31 TDs and 186 points that season established new single-season NFL records.
