May 17, 2021 · EXAMINING THE CORE OF 'THE FINAL COUNTDOWN'. Yes, I was there when The Final Countdown first played in U.S. theaters toward the end of summer, 1980. I remember vividly watching this one up on the silver screen, and – though I’m not entirely certain – I may have seen it several times.
