Real Sociedad de Fútbol, more commonly referred to as Real Sociedad (pronounced [reˈal soθjeˈðað] es ⓘ; Royal Society) in English, and Erreala or Reala in Basque, is a Spanish professional sports club in the city of Donostia-San Sebastián, Basque Country, founded on 7 September 1909.
The founding of the club. After having won the Copa del Rey, the players decided to break away from the Club Ciclista to legally form the Sociedad de Fútbol. The new club was officially founded on 7 September 1909 under the presidency of Mr Adolfo Sáenz Alonso.
