This is a list of seasons played by Middlesbrough Football Club in English and European football, from 1883, when the club first entered the FA Cup, to the most recent completed season. Middlesbrough Football Club were founded on 18 February 1876, by members of Middlesbrough Cricket Club.
In 1986, the club was facing a bankruptcy. It was followed by a shift of ownership and a reconstruction. The club had to start over in Division 3, but would climb their way up and played in the Premier League season 1996-97. By Oscar Anderson
