    is an American science fiction thriller loosely based on a trilogy novel of the same name by Justin Cronin. The television series was created and produced by Liz Hilden and was also produced by notable figures such as Ridley Scott. The series premiered on Fox on January 14, 2019.

    The series follows Amy Bellafonte, a young orphan who is taken in the midst of a government conspiracy and is used as a test subject for a contained yet foreign virus that turns people into virals--reanimated human beings that turn into supernatural, blood-thirsty creatures. Episodes are available on Hulu, iTunes, and are free for users with cable subscriptions on the Fox website up to a certain time.

    Season 1

    Searching for a miracle cure, the Department of Defense and the Center for Disease Control sends two scientists, Jonas Lear and Tim Fanning, overseas to search for a person that could serve as a breakthrough subject. The man is revealed to be a vampiric creature and attacks Fanning. Three years later and the Chinese avian flu is on the rise, killing billions in the process. A group of scientists are tasked with finding a cure. Fanning, who has been a test subject is, now quarantined and fully transformed into a viral along with other subjects who have been converted as well. In the end, they come to the conclusion that the best way to find results is to experiment on a child. The child ends up being Amy Bellafonte, whose status as an orphan makes her the perfect candidate. However, the man tasked with kidnapping her, Brad Wolgast, has a mysterious past and gains an immediate liking to her. He goes AWOL, making him a threat to the CDC's project: Project Noah. While the both of them are chased down, Brad does whatever he can to keep Amy protected at all costs and they both vow to stand beside each other no matter what.

    In July 2007, it was announced Fox 2000 paid $1.75 million for film rights to novel series by Justin Cronin. However, plans to make a trilogy was canceled and it was later decided that it would be better as a television series.
