Feb 25, 2020 · Monkstown Community Forum was formed as a company limited by guarantee in 1995. Then, local groups were encouraged by government agencies to form a consortium to progress the idea of having new community facilities in Monkstown.
The Forum developed the ‘Green Hut’ site into Monkstown Village Centre in 2006, a social enterprise venture, providing both commercial and community space. It is situated at Monkstown crossroads, which still, for many, signifies the entrance to Monkstown.
Monkstown Community Forum iNews In 2008, Monkstown’s iNews commenced production and continued three times a year until 2021, to keep the wider Monkstown community up-to-date on groups, activities and useful contact details in the area.
Monkstown Village Centre is a development project of Monkstown Community Forum. It is designed to facilitate statutory, business and community users. It has around 90 parking spaces, 17 commercial units and approximately 6,000 sqft of community space containing rooms of various sizes.
Monkstown Community Forum was incorporated in 1995. Its member groups include both voluntary/community groups and statutory organisations from the area. It developed the ‘Green Hut’ site in 2006 using a social enterprise model, providing both commercial and community space.
