Feb 23, 2012 · Less well recorded is what happened to the act after Cliff Bennett left the band (or was 'booted out' depending upon which story you believe) to form Toe Fat. Logically enough, they decided to continue as the plain old Rebel Rousers, and whilst Bennett's vocals are much missed on this single, the other elements remain intact.
He reflects on the disbanding of the Rebel Rousers in 1969, his time with Shanghai and Toe Fat, including touring the US supporting Status Quo, Elton John and Derek and the Dominos, and eventually his decision to leave the music industry behind until the legendary band re-formed in the 1980s under Mark Lundquist’s wing and guidance.

More recently, Lundquist has toured alongside Mike d’Abo, Chris Farlowe, Zoot Money, Maggie Bell, Screaming Lord Sutch, The Manfreds, Steve Ellis and New Amen Corner.
