Persian Risk are a Welsh heavy metal band from the new wave of British heavy metal era formed in 1979 and hailing from Cardiff, Wales. The brainchild of ex-Stoned Soul Party guitarist Phil Campbell, he recruited vocalist Jon Deverill, second guitarist Dave Bell, bass player Nick Hughes, and drummer Razz. The group was active until 1986.

Mar 6, 2024 · Persian Risk’s debut album, Rise Up, from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal days has an excellent re-issue via High Roller Records including a hefty number of bonus tracks which consist of their various singles from the early 1980s which pre-date the album.

Years active: 1992-1995. Carl Sentance relocated to the United States in the early '90s and formed a new version of Persian Risk. The band ended when Sentance had to relocate back to the UK due to immigration problems.
This great NWOBHM band offers an excellent power-rock/melodic metal album in “Rise Up.” Persian Risk are typical of the NWOBHM movement, in that while they may have slogged it out for a number of years, they have little in the way of albums on offer.
