We prefer to put it differently: the inhabitants of Tongeren are simply proud of their city! They will welcome you with open arms ( only the best will do ) and gladly show you around.
Like in many other cities across Belgium, Tongeren had a community of spiritual and religious women living within the city walls. This community was called Beguinage, and this museum perfectly represents how they lived. The houses date from 1660; today, they are a beautiful remembrance of the past. The ticket to visit is 4 euros per person.
