Ludlow Castle is a ruined medieval fortification in the town of the same name in the English county of Shropshire, standing on a promontory overlooking the River Teme. The castle was probably founded by Walter de Lacy after the Norman Conquest and was one of the first stone castles to be built in England.
Opens: 10am - 3pm. Closed. Event. Open 11am - 5pm. VISITOR ADMISSION TICKETS. Tours of the castle with archaeologist Leon Bracelin are held on the first 3 Saturdays of the month at 12 noon and 2pm. Tours are free (admission charges apply) Book your place online or ask at the ticket office on arrival. Please note that availability is limited.
