The Mouse is the main antagonist of the 1997 DreamWorks film Mouse Hunt. He is a small house mouse that the Smuntz brothers, the movie's protagonists, try to get out of a mansion they wish to sell.
The film follows two Laurel and Hardy-like brothers in their struggle against one small but crafty house mouse for possession of a mansion which was willed to them by their father. While the film is set in the late 20th century, styles range humorously from the 1940s to the 1990s.
Dec 19, 1997 · Upon the death of their father, down-on-their-luck brothers Ernie and Lars Smuntz (Nathan Lane and Lee Evans) are surprised to learn that their inheritance is a crumbling old mansion that both assume is worthless, but they couldn’t be more wrong.
Made of Iron: The Smuntz brothers live through a heck load of torment from the mouse, including things that would kill or severely maim them in Real Life, not unlike what the Wet Bandits go through in Home Alone.
Catzilla chases the mouse throughout the house, but gets duped onto the dumbwaiter as the mouse sends him on a one-way trip down to his demise. Then they hire a quirky exterminator named Caesar to handle the mouse, though he is severely wounded.
MouseHunt (film) When once-wealthy string magnate Rudolf Smuntz (William Hickey) dies, he leaves his outdated string factory and a run-down mansion to his two sons, Lars (Lee Evans) and Ernie (Nathan Lane).
The brothers then decide to have the house restored in order to sell it -- but someone's out there to stop them: a mouse! And this is no ordinary mouse. It does everything to stop the renovation of the house and scare the Smuntz brothers away.
