Fleeing a murder charge, a busboy and a nightclub singer wind up on a spooky Caribbean island inherited by a young woman. In the island there is a Haunted Castle hiding a rich treasure.

It's quite the entertaining horror comedy with the boys showing good comedic chemistry, plenty of light, kid friendly horror (haunted house, ghosts, zombies, skeletons, oh my!), some wildly fun song & dance routines (Carmen Miranda is a treasure and the Jerry Lewis number as a stand-in for Miranda, in drag/lip synching and the "Enchilada" song are top notch).

May 31, 2010 · Scared Stiff is a remake of the Old Dark House comedy The Ghost Breakers (1940), which in itself was a remake of a play that had been twice filmed during the silent era (1914 and 1922). The Ghost Breakers was made as a vehicle for Bob Hope just after the success of his Old Dark House comedy The Cat and the Canary (1939) clearly hoping to milk a similar vein.
