Walked through North Beach on a recent visit to San Francisco, and found the architecture interesting and welcoming. Close to Little Italy, Chinatown, and Fisherman's Wharf, this will be the next neighborhood we find a hotel to stay in and use as a base of operations. Lots of great restaurants in a 5 block radius.

Washington Square Park is the heart of North Beach; you literally can’t miss it. The Saint Peter and Paul Church towers over the park and makes the whole area feel very European.
