  6. Colossal - What an unexpectedly dark and clever movie. I went in expecting a quirky romcom with a giant monster and instead was completely taken by surprise with the narrative turns it took. It did what all good Kaiju movies do and used them as symbols for bigger human problems, in this case alcoholism, self- destruction and toxic relationships.
