Some of the best places to live right now are Onerahi, but it has only one road to exit and it's shared with trucking businesses and riverside. Riverside is good to live, but, floods too easily. OTherwise, it's close to town and close to some of the best sights in Whangarei. Parihaka is a great spot.
It's fine. Town is actually great. The loop is fantastic and realy well developed with more going on. The Hundertwasser house is an absolute gem and just such a nice icon but also the roof garden is amazing. Some good cafes if you know where to go. Downsides - hard to meet people, less to do.
Move to Whangārei. You can experience balance and an excellent lifestyle in Whangarei. Shorter commutes mean less time on the road and more time at the beach with friends and whanau. Balance is important to businesses and people who live here.
Live in Whangārei. Whangārei itself is a bustling town. As Northland’s only city, you will find great cafes, coffee and restaurants. As well as local markets, cultural events, sports competitions and festivals. There are good schools, tertiary education providers and excellent community facilities.
Great beaches, trails, whangarei harbor and bay of islands near by for boating, fishing etc, lots of farmland, some hunting etc. great recreation. Not that great for restaurants, cafes, nightlife, shopping malls etc. But improving. Comparatively short commutes, cheap living, good for families.
Jul 18, 2013 · As I said, I don't live there but I like the place a lot. Good weather (at least it seems so whenever I've been there) good restaurants around the harbour. It gets quite international touristy when the yachties get in.
Onerahi is the closest suburb to a beach on Whangarei harbour. A little further towards the Heads is Parua Bay with a great school and easy commuting distance to the city itself. All the best with your proposed move.
