   • Nope. Avoid Hannibal at all costs, its easily one of Ridley Scotts worst films (not entirely his fault, the script was a turd, but then again the book kind of was too). Its a film that doesnt really know what its trying to do. You have incredibly stupid characters in it, a bland narrative, a lame ending, and a confusing mess of a film.

   Did Anthony Hopkins write a sequel to 'Hannibal ending'?

   • Sir Anthony Hopkins wrote a screenplay for a sequel to this movie, most likely titled "Hannibal Ending", which would've involved Starling killing Lecter. However, this was never used. (at around 35 mins) When Lecter writes his first letter to Clarice, he licks the envelope to seal it.

   The film comparing to the book has several redeeming values: visually, it is a stunning work of a great director. I am yet to see Florence, the celebrated City of Flowers as dark, dangerous, and anti-tourist as in "Hannibal".
