Jul 29, 2016 · 52 Pick-Up is fantastic piece of 80s sleaze; an Elmore Leonard adaptation that nicely captures the writer’s plotting and wit. It’s funny, vicious, and twisting, and proof that, like Runaway Train, not everything Cannon bankrolled had Chuck Norris in it.
52 Pick-Up is a 1986 American neo-noir crime film directed by John Frankenheimer and starring Roy Scheider, Ann-Margret, and Vanity. It is based on Elmore Leonard's 1974 novel of the same name, and is the second adaptation of it after The Ambassador (1984).
