May 22, 2020 · And to be clear, The Lovebirds is an enjoyable watch. It flies by very quickly (even for a movie clocking under 90 minutes), Nanjiani and Rae are both very believable and very amusing as a couple on the rocks, and the whole thing transitions smoothly from moments of sincere drama to darkly humorous or wacky developments at the turn of a dime.
