Henry Wilson died on June 22, 1922, when he was shot by two men, Reginald Dunne and Joseph O'Sullivan. Dunne was commander of the Irish Republican Army in London. Wilson's assassination became him as much as any other event during his lifetime, and it rapidly achieved a mythic quality.
