Nov 22, 2023 · Toadstool Geologic Park Campground Nebraska The Interpretive Loop is a short trail that gives a suitable feel for what Toadstool Geologic Park has to offer. You will see many of the toadstool-shaped features, walk along some elevated trails, and the excursion won’t wear you out.
While amenities are minimal—think pit toilets and no running water—campers appreciate the simplicity and the chance to connect with nature. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with beautiful views and a chance to explore, Toadstool Geological Park & Campground is definitely worth a visit.
This area is similar to Badlands National Park in South Dakota, but still worth a visit. The $3 fee is fair. Camping is available, but the sites are pretty open to the sun. It would be very hot in summer months. No showers, but there are vault toilets. The 1-mile Toadstool Loop trail meanders through the formations.

There is a small campground (no water available) at Toadstool Geologic Park that makes a good launching point to explore the area. A $3 per vehicle day use fee is charged from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Toadstool Campground to Hudson Meng is 3 miles one way. A five mile loop begins at the campground and proceeds on the graveled section of the interpretive trail for a short distance before heading north through the badlands and grasslands on the Great Plains Trail.
