Feb 24, 2023 · You are now able to pre-book at Pen y Pass car park, however many climbers recommend parking in one of the car parks in Llanberis and making use of the Sherpa bus link. You can descend from the summit following the Llanberis Path straight to those car parks at the end of the day, meaning you will only need to get the bus at the beginning of your journey.
Jan 6, 2018 · The Watkin Path is one of the most scenic routes up to the summit of Snowdon. It starts just off a road junction near Nant Gwynant. You can, of course, follow the old track, but I would recommend that you take the new path instead. This is located to the left and takes you through some ancient woodland. You will even pass a spectacular waterfall.

- Snowdon Overview. For those unfamiliar, Snowdon (1,085m) is the highest mountain in Wales and can be found in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park – which also happens to be top on our list of the ten most beautiful national parks in Europe.
- The Llanberis Path. This is the easiest of all the Snowdon routes and for that reason also the most popular. It has a steady gradient and is sometimes known as the Tourist Path or Pony Path, thanks to the long but gentle climb.
- Snowdon Ranger Path. The Snowdon Ranger Path is the oldest of all the Snowdon routes and is named for the Snowdon Ranger Inn, now a YHA Youth Hostel, near Llyn Cwellyn.
- The Miner’s Track. The Miner’s Track was built back in 1832 following the opening of the Llanberis Pass. Back then, it was used to transport copper from the Britannia Copper Works to Pen-y-Pass where it could be transported onwards.
Remember to drink frequently in warm weather; you can’t afford to get dehydrated. Allow plenty of time, and pace yourself. You may need to take frequent breaks, and don’t expect to be walking up Snowdon at your normal walking pace on the level.
