John Thaw seems to struggle with a role for which he is completely miscast; and with the whole tenor of the plot changed for compression into a two hour format, this must be one of the more disappointing television adaptations of recent times.

Harry Barnett (Thaw) is a bankrupt businessman now working as a caretaker at a friend's estate on the Greek isle of Rhodes. He has a one-nighter with young Englishwoman Heather Mallender (Cruttenden) and when she mysteriously disappears, Harry becomes a suspect.
John thaw is an elderly recovering alcoholic in Rhodes who falls for an attractive young woman who seduces him for nefarious purpose. When she disappears he becomes the prime suspect and flees back to the UK and the protection of his wealthy businessman friend.

The opening scenes are deceptive. The Jessica Alba character seems to have wandered over from the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, or maybe she thinks she’s in a video.
