Hohenzieritz is a municipality in the district Mecklenburgische Seenplatte, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Louise of Mecklenburg-Strelitz died here in 1810.
The Hohenzieritz Landscape Park is considered one of the oldest and most important English style parks in Mecklenburg. It was created in 1776 by the garden architect Archibald Thomson on the south side of the palace, where the terrain slopes gently and merges into the park with its surrounding open landscape over an area of 21 hectares.
Hohenzieritz went down in history as the place where the legendary Queen Luise of Prussia died. The castle was once the summer residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Today, a memorial in the castle provides information about Queen Luise.
