Jan 26, 2023 · In that regard, Lelouch did indeed die at the end of Zero Requiem but was subsequently revived by CC before the events of Lelouch of the Re;surrection after she obtained her body from Shirley, who was able to take custody of the fallen emperor’s corpse due to her family’s influence.
Lelouch turns down her request not wishing to cause her trouble by being around her, however, deciding to instead live his life by C.C.'s side, exploring the world under the pseudonym he created, L.L., mimicking C.C.'s name as a way of proposing to her.
Looking at the series objectively, yes Lelouch is 99% dead in the ending. However I personally like endings that let the viewer draw their own conclusions as to what happened, and even if the creators never intended for the ‘Lelouch is alive’ theory to exist I think the ending is all the better for it.
