His kind of archery was used in very specific circumstances, by a select group of people (Assyrians and Mongolians mainly), whereas the majority of historical archers moved and shot in large groups where this kind of leaping about wasn't so useful.
Just as a warning, Everytime Lars Anderson is mentioned this subreddit and ask historians goes a little bit crazy. The general consensus is no, they have very little (if any) historical merit. He is a talented trick shooter, but does not provide an accurate image of historical archery
Lars Andersen is an extremely talented archer, and nothing I say here is to discredit that skill. The issue I take is passing off extremely impressive trick shooting as battlefield archery. He can do some very cool things, but not necessarily things that are of practical martial application.
