If you wish to request a fee waiver for a Master’s or PhD application for entry in Fall or Spring 2025, please wait until September 1, 2024 to submit a request form. The deadlines for fee waiver requests are listed below.
Yes, Boston University (BU) does offer application fee waivers to some international applicants, but they are limited. Firstly, if you apply through the Common Application, you may request a fee waiver in the "Profile" section of the app under "Common App Fee Waiver."
Fee Waivers. Fee waivers are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Determine when to apply for your waiver. Fee waivers are valid for 365 days (including holidays and weekends) from the time you are approved, but cannot be used after an application's deadline.
Fee waivers are granted via a coupon code. The code can be used to apply to a single program only. A $95.00 fee is required to apply to each additional program. A fee waiver will not be retroactively applied to an application that has already been paid for and submitted.
An application fee waiver for Boston University is available based on financial need through GMS (application HERE). International applicants do not qualify for a fee waiver as per university guidelines.
