This is only semi-related but I looked into the first Armand Hammer (AH’s great-grandfather) once as a joke because of Arm & Hammer baking soda. And turns out he was not a founder of it (disappointing).

I found out about this when I read "Hammer", Armand's autobiography. His dad was a big commie and actually named him Armand to reflect the Arm and Hammer. His dad went to prison in the 20's and Armand took over the family business, a small chain of pharmacies.
We had an item that had a letter from a woman who had a romantic encounter with Armand Hammer. She wrote that he gifted her this chalice cover (the cloth that drapes over the Eucharist cup during mass) that came from some Russian cathedral from the 1700s to her.
