Apr 26, 2022 · Coco Solo was a community of about 300 households living in an abandoned US naval base near the Atlantic entrance to the Panama Canal (see Figure 1). Established in 1918, the naval station later served as a residential townsite for civilian employees of the US-run Panama Canal Company and its successor, the joint Panamanian–US Panama Canal Commission.
