  1. Feb 25, 2020 · RELATED: Michael Bay's 10 Best Movies (According To Rotten Tomatoes) Though it's not exactly scientifically accurate, Armageddon is a heck of a good time and packed with wall-to-wall explosions. From a meteor shower that destroys New York City, blowing up cars and buildings left and right, to the almost beautiful green-blue splitting of the asteroid during the movie's climax, Bay really ...

    • Armageddon (1998) The Bay movie that arguably gave birth to the concept known as Bayhem, and likely the movie that Bay will be remembered for the most.
    • Pearl Harbor (2001) Once again, Bay tackles history. Historical accuracy doesn’t exist here, and people surely have very strong opinions about how this movie deals with its WWII subject matter.
    • Bad Boys II (2003) S**t just got real. Big booms causing cars to go rolling during chase scenes is important, and this movie has that, no question. None of this is realistic, but that’s not why we’re here.
    • The Rock (1996) It’s likely our favorite Bay movie on this list, and not just because it teams Bay with Nicolas Cage. It’s got Sean Connery and Ed Harris too, and it's fun for days.

    • Surgery - Ambulance. Bay’s latest film is about two brothers who rob a bank and then carjack an ambulance to escape law enforcement. So begins a wild car chase across Los Angeles in which the brothers take an EMT and a wounded police officer as hostages.
    • Nuking the asteroid - Armageddon. Step aside science nerds, it’s time for some oil drillers to save humanity from an asteroid. In one of the most memorable blockbusters of the '90s, Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, and company are launched into space because they are apparently the only people on earth capable of drilling deep enough into an asteroid to drop a nuke inside and blow it in half before it collides with our planet and causes the extinction of our species.
    • San Francisco Hummer chase - The Rock. Michael Bay loves cool cars and in 1996, few motor vehicles were considered more badass by the bros of America than a Hummer.
    • Invading Cuba - Bad Boys II. It sure as hell seems illegal for a ragtag coalition of Miami police detectives, some guys from the CIA and DEA, and the U.S. Coast Guard to unilaterally invade Cuba in pursuit of a drug kingpin.

  4. Jan 13, 2022 · Like many filmmakers, Michael Bay got his start by making home movies. As a kid, he was apparently already a bit of a fire bug, loving to film little junior-sized explosions for his films. One ...
