Best Level: The Shalebridge Cradle. The whole game was worth it just for this one level. It's one of the most terrifying and immersive horror levels in a non-horror game ever made. The first half being totally empty creates a wonderful anticipation that pays off in the asylum portion of the level.

Sure, it's different, there are no real shadows, and you're never truely invisible, and the gameplay also has a lot of aspects from Deus Ex, and some other games, but, the Dishonored games are absolutely fantastic, and a real blast for anyone who liked the original Thief's.

Honestly, you can get a better idea by watching just a few minutes of gameplay from each of the old Thief games rather than counting on a group of Thief fans to guess what your standards are. Most Thief fans consider Thief 2014 to be the weakest game of the lot.

Sep 28, 2017 · The first two games are about on par, you'll find people differ over their favourite but most agree that they're by far the best the series has to offer. The third game (Deadly Shadows) has its moments, it a couple of notches down in some respects but still worth a play.

Never went back. For reference, I never really played the original Thief games, but I do enjoy stealthing around in Skyrim, Metal Gear Solid, Assassin's Creed, Shadow of Mordor, etc. Stealth in this game is not fun, and neither is getting caught. That's really all there is to say.
