History & Culture of Amado. Manuel H. Amado started a ranch near San Xavier del Bac in 1852. Right around 1858, he was evicted from this ranch because it layed within the bounds of the San Xavier Indian Reservation. The Amado ranch was burned to the ground by government agents.
