- Adaptation. (2002) Some like their Cage feral and explosive, but I prefer my Nic Cage neurotic and anxiety ridden. Playing real-life screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (who co-wrote the script for this movie), Cage offers a masterclass in sweaty, worry-driven neuroses in Spike Jonze’s Adaptation.
