The College is named after St Bede, an English scholar renowned for his faith and learning, which are central to the Bedean spirit. St Bede’s is the oldest Catholic boys’ college in the South Island and the only Catholic boys’ college catering for both boarders and day boys.
St Bede’s College, Christchurch, is an integrated Catholic school for boys of years 9-13 providing secondary education for day and boarding students. A Marist school with a current roll of around 760 students, the College will celebrate its centennary in 2011.
