Poppy Fields at the Tower will run for 9 consecutive evenings at the Tower of London between 8 – 16 November 2024. Where does Poppy Fields at the Tower take place? Poppy Fields at the Tower takes place in the outdoor spaces within the gates of the Tower of London.
Created by artists Paul Cummins and Tom Piper, 888,246 ceramic poppies progressively filled the Tower's famous moat between July and November 2014. 21,688 people volunteered to install the poppies. Each poppy represented a British military fatality during the war.
Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red was a public art installation created in the moat of the Tower of London, England, between July and November 2014. It commemorated the centenary of the outbreak of World War I and consisted of 888,246 ceramic red poppies, each intended to represent one British or Colonial serviceman killed in the War.
